State clearly the philosophy of the proposed programme:
The study of cyber security involves theory of computation, compiler and operating system, basic programming, system and architecture, software development and testing algorithms. A degree programme in cyber security should foster in the undergraduate an appreciation of the importance of Cyber Security to human well-being, as well as its inevitable linkage to, managing/prevention of cyber threats and interactions with, other branches of telecommunication.
Admission Requirements and Expected Duration of the Programmes
Candidates are admitted into the degree programmes in any of the following three ways:
• The University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
• Direct Entry
• Inter-University Transfer
UTME Entry Mode
The entry requirements shall be at least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics to form the core subjects with credit in any other two relevant science subjects, at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent. In addition, an acceptable pass in the University
Direct Entry Mode
a. Expected duration for Direct Entry (DE) candidates with two A level passes (graded A-E) at the Advanced Level in one or more relevant subjects (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) may undertake the three – year degree programme into 200-level.
b. OND in relevant discipline with at least upper credit grade in addition to the five credit passes as in (a) above.
c. HND in relevant discipline with at least upper credit in addition to five credit passes as in (a) above.
Duration
Students are required to complete a minimum of 120 units for Graduation, 60 of which must come from Biochemistry.
a) UTME
Four (4) academic sessions or eight (8) semesters)
b) Direct Entry
Three academic sessions or six (6) semesters.
c) In general, no student will be allowed to exceed an additional 50% of the normal duration of the programme.
